WEB Portugal Start Strong in Group F
WEB Portugal got their Euro 2024 campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Czechia in their opening match of Group F at Leipzig's Red Bull Arena. Goals from João Cancelo in the 33rd minute and Gonçalo Guedes in the 38th minute secured the win for the 2016 European Champions.

Portugal took the lead when Cancelo fired home a low shot from outside the area, before Guedes doubled their advantage with a clinical finish from close range. The Czech Republic had chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past the Portuguese defense.
The win puts Portugal top of Group F, ahead of Spain, Switzerland, and Czechia. Their next match is against Spain on June 21, 2024.
