Russian Missle Strikes Ukrainian City of Zaporizhzhia

At Least 17 Dead, Dozens Injured in Attacks

Missiles Targeted Civilian Infrastructure, Residential Buildings

Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine - At least 17 people were killed and dozens more injured when Russian missiles struck the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Sunday, according to Ukrainian officials. The missiles targeted civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, causing widespread damage.

The strikes came as Russian forces continued their offensive in eastern Ukraine, where they have been trying to capture the Donbas region. Zaporizhzhia is located in southeastern Ukraine, about 120 miles from the front lines.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, calling them "another terrorist act by the Russian Federation." He said the strikes were aimed at "breaking the spirit of our people."

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that it had targeted military targets in Zaporizhzhia, but there was no evidence to support this claim. Witnesses said that the missiles had hit residential buildings, a school, and other civilian infrastructure.

The strikes on Zaporizhzhia are the latest in a series of Russian attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine. In recent weeks, Russian missiles have hit hospitals, schools, and other non-military targets.

The attacks have drawn international condemnation, and have led to calls for increased military aid to Ukraine. The United States and other Western countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with more weapons and equipment to defend itself against Russian aggression.
